Private Ukrainian air defense downs jet-powered Shahed

Ukraine's Defense Minister Fedorov confirmed that private, business-based air defense groups integrated into the Air Force command have shot down a jet-powered Shahed drone for the first time. This marks the first confirmed kill of the faster Shahed variant by these civilian volunteer crews. The network of these enterprise groups has expanded from 14 in March to 19, indicating a growing role for private sector resources in Ukraine's air defense.
