Russia offers to mediate US-Iran peace talks

Russia has offered to mediate between the United States and Iran in peace talks. The offer comes as a US delegation is in Islamabad, Pakistan, for a second round of negotiations with Iran, which have been marked by public criticism from within Iran's delegation. The Kremlin has previously expressed hope that talks would continue to avoid military escalation in the Gulf region.
