Radev's bloc wins absolute majority

Former President Rumen Radev's new party, Progressive Bulgaria, has won a decisive victory in Bulgaria's parliamentary election held on April 19, 2026. With 100% of protocols processed, the coalition received 44.5% of the vote, securing an absolute majority in parliament. This result allows Radev's bloc to form a cabinet independently, a feat not achieved by a single party in Bulgaria for 29 years. Radev, a Russia-friendly former fighter pilot, is now set to become the country's next Prime Minister.
