Iran official warns US over Hormuz commitments

Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, Deputy of Communications for the Iranian President's Office, stated that the conditional and limited reopening of part of the Strait of Hormuz is purely an Iranian initiative. He said this creates responsibility and tests the other side's adherence to their commitments, warning that failure to uphold them would bring dire consequences. Tabatabaei also criticized what he called the enemy's Twitter rhetoric and baseless statements aimed at depriving Iranians of pride earned through defense victories. The comments come amid ongoing tensions over the Hormuz situation following President Trump's recent announcements about Iran's uranium and the Lebanon ceasefire.
