Ukraine, Latvia plant memorial forest for fallen foresters

Foresters from Ukraine and Latvia have planted a memorial forest in the Holoby community of Ukraine's Volyn region. The grove honors Bohdan Kostiuchyk, a Ukrainian forester killed in a Russian shelling in June 2023, and all foresters who have died in the war. The planting included pine and oak trees, with a linden and guelder rose symbolizing the partnership between Latvia and Ukraine. The Latvian embassy in Ukraine highlighted the initiative as a tribute to the fallen and a symbol of enduring solidarity.
