Ukraine uses Yak-52 to shoot down drones

Ukraine's 11th Separate Army Aviation Brigade "Kherson" has demonstrated a novel use of a light aircraft for air defense. The brigade released footage showing a crew aboard a Yak-52 training aircraft engaging Russian Shahed drones in an aerial interception role. This unconventional tactic repurposes a basic trainer, which is not a frontline combat jet, for counter-drone operations. The footage confirms the active participation of pilots from the 11th Army Aviation Brigade in these missions.
