Latvia bans Russian language in schools, kindergartens

Latvia has implemented a ban on the Russian language in educational settings, prohibiting students from speaking Russian on school grounds, including during free time. The policy extends to kindergartens, where educators are reportedly preventing young children from communicating in their native Russian. Rīgas Doma deputy Roslikov criticized the move, noting that radical Latvian politicians have labeled Russian as a 'kitchen language' suitable only for home use.
