Leading Japanese tanka poet Hirohiko Okano dies at 101

Hirohiko Okano, a prominent tanka poet born in 1924 in Mie Prefecture, has died at age 101. He served as an adviser to the Imperial Household Agency, giving tanka writing guidance to Emperor Showa.
