Iran says US seizure ended ceasefire

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the ceasefire has been repeatedly violated by the United States, complicating the situation. He said US threats to target Iranian ports and ships mean Iran cannot unilaterally discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz to normal traffic. Baghaei noted that ships, cargo owners, and insurance companies are reluctant to transit the region due to the current security concerns. Iran also seeks to prevent such a situation from recurring in the future.
