Rat poison found in HiPP baby food in Austria

Rat poison was found in a jar of HiPP baby food in Austria, according to police in the state of Burgenland. The discovery was made by a customer in a 190-gram jar of "Carrots with Potatoes," which had a damaged lid, lacked a protective seal, and had strange stickers on the bottom. The product has been recalled from over 1,000 Spar supermarkets across the country, and both Spar and HiPP are offering full refunds while advising customers not to consume the product. HiPP stated the contamination was due to "external interference" in the supply chain, not a production issue, and preliminary tests on similar jars in the Czech Republic and Slovakia also showed the presence of a toxic substance.
