Russia damages thousands of Ukrainian cultural sites

Russia has damaged or destroyed 1,723 Ukrainian cultural heritage sites and 2,524 cultural institutions since the invasion began. These targets include churches, libraries, and other cultural landmarks, which are being systematically attacked not as collateral damage but as deliberate efforts to erase evidence of Ukraine's historical and national identity.
