Hezbollah kills UN peacekeeper in south Lebanon

The Israeli Defense Forces intelligence branch has confirmed that a Hezbollah cell opened fire on United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) personnel in southern Lebanon. The attack occurred on Saturday in the Al-Ghandouriyah area while UNIFIL forces were attempting to clear unexploded ordnance. One UN peacekeeper was killed and three additional personnel were injured, two of them severely. The IDF states that Hezbollah continues to exploit the ceasefire to carry out terror activities while endangering international forces in Lebanon.
