China pioneers CO2-to-jet fuel tech as prices soar

Chinese scientists are scaling up technology that converts carbon dioxide into aviation fuel, moving from lab to large-scale production amid soaring jet fuel prices. Global jet fuel prices surged to $175 a barrel in March and broke $200 in April, more than doubling year-on-year due to the war on Iran. The team from the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute is pioneering this path to mitigate fuel costs and carbon emissions.
