Comey indicted for threatening Trump

Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the North Carolina District Court has issued an indictment against former FBI Director James Comey on two counts related to threatening President Donald Trump. The first count alleges that on May 15, 2025, Comey willfully and intentionally threatened to kill or cause bodily harm to the President. The second count charges Comey with transmitting interstate communications containing a threat to kill the President. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The indictment stems from a social media post involving seashells that was interpreted as a threat.
