China has reportedly banned sulphuric acid exports, a critical chemical for fertiliser and metal processing. The move compounds existing supply disruptions from the US-Israel war in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz blockade, which accounts for a quarter of global sulphuric acid production. Overseas buyers are now facing soaring prices and potential shortages.
