Japan Airlines to deploy robots at airports

Japan Airlines is introducing anthropomorphic robots at Tokyo's Haneda Airport in a two-year experiment to combat labor shortages. The Chinese-made Unitree Robotics humanoid robots will initially handle cargo loading and unloading, with plans to expand to cabin cleaning and ground equipment operation. The airline, partnered with GMO AI & Robotics, announced the initiative on April 27. The move comes as Japan faces a declining working-age population and a surge in foreign arrivals.
